Hi everyone,
I like to tinker on old computers ,radio's and such. The superboard II was my first computer purchased around 79 on a family trip to california ,convinced my dad to help me get one, i was more excited about the computer then going to Disneyland.
Unfortunately all that survived my 20's was the original power supply and a couple of the manuals.
Several years ago i found a superboard II unbuilt with all the important parts intact, along with a not so nice completed version/ had some dead masked roms been hacked on and was dead. I did get it going doing the rom mod for the dead ones but sold it for a offer i could not refuse.
I was thinking of building the kit i have but am now thinking i will leave it alone. i will either make some copies of the boards and or wait till i find a nice working or not one to come along.
In the mean time i am restoring a HP 3000 series 30 to add to my collection
Thanks
Grant

Hi Klyball,
Welcome.
What you need to do is make some high res scans of the boards. This would be really invaluable for anyone wanting to make a replica in the future.
I would certainly be very keen to recreate the disk board.

Let me put a vote in for that too. Blank PCBs like that are extremely rare. Scan them front and back at as high a resolution as you can, multiple times, and save the scans in a lossless format (ie: TIF). If we can replicate these boards we may be able to repair/restore more systems in the future.nama wrote:Hi Klyball,

WOW! I had no idea, it came in kit form! The 610 would be cool to build.

Does anyone know where to new keyboard switches that fit the motherboard holes? I have to constantly keep cleaning mine (on 3 units!) just to keep them functional.

Re: Superboard Owner
Jeff, I think we could order the keys from the same source used for the recent superboard replica. We would have to do custom key caps . (Im sitting on an eprom vesion blank pcb UK101 thats going to be a retirement project.)
Pretty easy to also do just the keyboard section from these scans I would think.
How many interested in building just a keyboard - (stand alone)? Me for a start.
