Does anyone have the details for the Superboard 64 column mod?

Also, the GT mod would be appreciated.

Thanks!

take look at peek(65) vol5 issues 2 and 3

I think a Speedup will depend on how the timing chains look after the mood, but should be easy. I will have a look when I'm back on town.

Thanks, Grant. I was looking for that article but could not find it.

That's actually a much easier mod than the first one, and the write-up is excellent. You don't get the guard bands, but 24 x 48 is actually pretty usable, and will also be similar to the later rev C1/SBII displays.

All I have are nightmares of piggy-backed chips.

That was the first major hardware project I ever did. I was about 12 years old. I learned everything about how video worked because that was the only way I could figure out how I screwed it up.

Its too bad I never published my video modification which is super simple compared to all the others.
It will doulbe the characters accross so 24 becomes 48 and 1/2 the lines down so you get a reasonable usefull number.
The mod required a few cut traces (if I remember back 35 years, its about 4) and the addition of two simple TTL chips. Using a third chip you can
even make it programble to switch back and forth to original mode. The display is very readable and the characters look real nice.
Much better looking then the big blocky OSI 8x8 box characters.
It requires no new RAM, and the wireing is pretty simple since it possible to pick up most of the required signals via through holes in the pcb.
If there is a lot of interest in this I will publish it. Should have done it 30 years ago I guess..
