Does anybody know where to buy replacement keyboard switches? My 'E' key on my C4P has now permanently quit on me. No amount of cleaning will bring it back to life.

Thanks, in advance.

The keyswitches on Atari CX-85 numeric pads are perfect replacements and seem to be much more reliable. They come up used on ebay all the time for around 10 dollars and contain 17 switches. Less than a dollar a switch. There are a bunch new for 25 each... still less than 2 dollars a switch.

Thanks bsudbrink.

Grant let me know of a key switch supplier he found. I was able to buy some from them. $3.00 for 20

Too bad about the minimum charge and the exorbitant shipping charges. I wanted to get a set for future replacement, but $44 is a bit insane.

That's odd. I spent $36 and was only charged $9 for shipping. How many switches did you need, and where are you located? Perhaps I could send you some from my purchase.

I'M in Canada. Their flat rate international shipping is $29.95 and they have a minimum order of $14.

I'm not sure what that $29.95 is all about. I ship stuff around the world, and even a Canadian prices I have never had to pay $29.95 to ship an item to the USA.

Thanks for the offer Jeff. I wanted to keep a few around "just in case", would 5 be too much? Let me know.

I had them send it to my US address. It is a wonderful thing.

PM me your address and I will send you 5 switches.

Here are a few photos of my old 'E' keyswitch next to my new 'E' keyswitch. The new one is the one with the red ring. Apart from the color of the bottom of the switch, they are identical.

After installing the new keyswitch, my 'E' key works perfectly!

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the pics of the keyswitches.
Just ordered a few packs for future repairs.

Shipping may be a trifle excessive (to Australia), but they have plenty of other difficult to find bits to suit retro machines.

I stocked up on some 40/50pin edge connectors to suit my TRS-80's and Apple 2's, 64pin DIP sockets for 68000 , etc.etc.

Made the shipping worthwhile in the end ;)

Cheers,
Leslie

Has anyone found a supplier for the key caps for these Futaba MD-4PCS keys ?
