C4PMF Memory Expansion

Post by lowrybt1 »

Any advice on a way to increase the RAM capacity of the 527 board? I have a C4PMF with a single, fully-populated 527. Would like to add at least 8K to the system. Is it possible to piggyback chips onto the existing RAM installed on the 527? If it comes down to finding another 527 or 520 board, are there any compatibility issues I need to consider when adding another RAM board to the C4P?

Thanks, Tom

Tom, you could use one of Bills memory expansion boards. http://osiweb.org/osiforum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=180
Either remove the 527 or use a smaller 16K*8 ram in place of the 32K on either of these expansion boards. (Small decoding/gal change required)

Mike,

Thanks for pointing this out. My knowledge of electronics is somewhat limited. I don't know where the memory expansion would be slotted on the 505B board and I'm not capable of editing\burning a modified GLU-GAL ROM. Tom
