Before I make a dumb mistake, I just wanted to confirm that the connectors mount on the Blue side of the PC board?

The connectors are inserted on the blue side, as you have in the picture.
I would have thought that the solder mask would be on the solder side of the board.
Good luck!
Dave

Thanks for confirming that. I was also confused by the solder mask on the top and didn't want to make a colossal goof!.

What a beautiful board. I look forward to seeing this in operation.
Not to derail your thread or anything, but may I ask what the intended function of the logic chips on this backplane are for? I can't say I've gotten too close to larger Challenger models to see for myself, and until now I thought the backplanes were all purely passive.

Derail away!
Dave and Jonathan did a great job making this board available. It is a very thick / stiff material so has a nice feel.
The only documentation I've located is in the OSI Appnote #2, http://osiweb.org/manuals/OSI_appnote_2.pdf
Looks like the logic chips are drivers to extend the bus, and are 7417's. There are also spaces at the bottom for pull-up resistors.

Wow, sure looks like I ran that the wrong way around...I wonder if that's my goof, or the board fab?!
