Whoo hoo I came across a 630 board , added the chips to the 600d cut the 2 traces and added the jumper and its outputs b/w composite, and looks like the rgb signals are good just need to make a cable to fully test ,but I see no reason it won't work.
Here is the interesting part ,if you look at the bottom right corner there is a space for 5 chips a crystal and support components. I haven't 100% confirmed the layout but seems to be identical to the 540b color composite output circuit. I wonder why its not mentioned anywhere that I have seen or even on the schematic. The schematic parts layout is identical minus the undocumented components.
I have started on the replica to complete the 600,610,630 set.

Re: Elusive 630 board
Please take a picture of the board as it one of the long missing images from my OSI hardware board list!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Elusive 630 board
Boy, this brings back memories from 1981+ when I desperately wanted to find a 630 board and add color to my C1PMF. I thought it was true vaporware.

Re: Elusive 630 board
I can confirm that the missing chips do correspond to sheet 6 of the 540B schematic and the circuit inputs are connected .

Re: Elusive 630 board
Can anyone confirm the color video RAM memory location for the 600D?
Normal 1K screen memory is located at D000 through D3FF. Is the 4bit color RAM at D800-DBFF or D400-D7FF or ???
Thanks!

Re: Elusive 630 board
Don't know if this is of any use. I made it while trying to sort out my colour board... sorry for the roughness.

Re: Elusive 630 board
Thanks,
that helps.
I am trying to verify U72 control port. From the OSI schematics it looks like:
it differs a bit from your notes. I was just verifying WinOSI handles this correctly.
Also has anyone run across any C1 programs that use color? Thanks!

I am trying to verify U72 control port. From the OSI schematics it looks like:
Code: Select all
OSI 600D U72 74LS174 Hex D-Flip Flop

D0 = (pin 7) /32
D1 = (pin 5) Color Enable
D2 = (pin 2) BK0
D3 = (pin 12) BK1
D4 = (pin 15) DAC Disable
D5 = (pin 10 NC?)
