A progress report - I have DOS/65 V3.0 running on my C1P/SBII. Modifying my V2.1x BOOT and SIM was simple. The only changes were:

BOOT & SIM - change CCM length to V3.0x standard 2560.

SIM Only

a. Update the opening banner to reflect SYSGEN version and SIM version.

b. Change WARM BOOT to use IOSTAT as means for PEM to tell SIM what default drive will be.

c. Ensure Drive A is always the warm or cold boot source drive.

d. Ensure COLD BOOT clears IOSTAT so USER=0 and boot drive=0=A.

I have attached a .ZIP file with my latest V2.1x BOOT and SIM as well as my V3.0x BOOT and SIM. Please note that in both cases I use the C1 monitor ROM for much of the low level I/O and that ROM is unchanged between V2.1x and V3.0x.

I am not yet posting SYSGEN, SD, SUBMIT, COPY3, etc., as I want to do a bit more testing but so far everything look great. I do recommend you get V2.1 including the latest transients up and running so you are used to the command names, command line syntax, etc., before you switch to V3.0x.

Thanks,

Rich

As I think I mentioned would be the case I have been totally consumed by family events since late August and am still in recovery mode. I will start re-applying myself to OSI stuff over the next few weeks. One of the first things I have done is fire up the C1P running DOS/65 V3 and verify it is still OK. It is!

I will work towards releasing the full V3 package as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Rich Leary

Rich,

That's really great news. Can't wait to see the v3 release.

At long last I am releasing DOS/65 V3 for the OSI community. I am releasing the C1P dual floppy version for now. I had previously released the associated MONITOR, BOOT, and SIM source code and those files are still the right ones for V3. Those components can all be assembled under V2.1 as can the V3 unique files.

The largest package is DOS65V3C.ZIP. It has the source code and the V3 unique documentation.

The second package is DOS65V3C-OBJ.ZIP and has the SYSGN302.COM file.

The third package is SDV102.ZIP and contains the source for SD.COM (V1.02).

If you have questions or problems please let me know.

Thanks,

Rich Leary

I sent a PM to Rich Leary a few days ago, asking if he might post binary images of bootable disks. He replied that he could, and expected to post disk images (for the C1P) this Sunday.

Sorry - I had a major disk crash - had to start over. Hope to be done by this coming Monday.
