Spreadsheet program for C4/C8

Post by lowrybt1 »

Did anyone ever come across spreadsheet software for the C4 or C8? I'm guessing that limitations with memory and graphics resolution made such an endeavor not worthwhile, but just in case.....

There was a spreadsheet program for 65U called "Planner", and I do think it could run on the C8P, although it was mainly aimed at serial-terminal systems. It was sold by OSI itself, and was kind of slow.

As for the C4P (that is, for 65D) , I don't think there was one. It wasn't an issue of memory or screen resolution; spreadsheets like Visicalc were text-based, and the C4P could display more characters than the Apple II, and commonly had the same 48k of RAM. I guess it's just that OSI wasn't a big enough market for spreadsheet makers to bother porting their products to.
