Guilford MP-32 Computer System (flyer and letter)

Post by bxdanny »

Another unusual, OSI-related piece of literature I found that I have is this flyer, and accompanying letter, promoting something called the Guilford MP-32 Computer System. This was hardware using multiple 65816 16-bit processors on a PC/AT ISA bus, using PC-standard cases, drives, etc. but running OS-65U-derived software. It sounds like it could have been an impressive and really capable system, and apparently it actually did exist for real. Too bad it wasn't a success.

Note: The letter was signed in blue ink, but I scanned it in blsck-and-white.

BTW, there is a Steve Guilford in California today who runs a database company called AsterionDB, and another one listed on LinkedIn as an "Independent Internet Professional". I wonder if either of them is the same guy.
