Nice C4PMF on ebay

Looks in great shape.
Very similar to mine. It doesn't have the 541 board (extra 24K/Hi-Res Graphics) that mine does.
Same floppy disk problems, though. I hope someone here buys it, and then we can work together to get the floppies booting!

Wow, the bids are getting up there. Over $1,200 USD with 1 day to go.

I bought this unit on eBay and after examining the floppy drive, I learned 2 chips on the back right were missing a pin each. That is why it's not reading the disks. So I am hoping to find another drive for the 4P-MF. I did order a legacy drive from eBay (an IBM drive) which appears to have the same connectors, but I am not optimistic it will work.

Either I need to replace the two chips (which I will look at the schematic to see which ones are bad) or find a replacement MF drive on eBay or somewhere else. Any idea where I might find one?

Hi Jeff,

Why don't you take some pictures, and post them in the "Projects" subforum. Most likely, your drives are fixable.

Thanks Dave. I'll' do that.

I am also looking for a 502 board. If you know anyone selling one, I'm interested.

Yes, definitely post photos. I will compare them to mine. I am getting close to getting mine working. I am also working on trying to get an alternative drive working.

Are you looking for the 502 board just to run ROM BASIC?

Sorry for the Hiatus. I'm back to my project now. I bought the C4PMF from eBay and could not get it to read any of the floppies. I( thought the drive might be bad so I found the same model on a vintage parts site. But, my new problem is the keyboard is completely deal. I can no longer see the D/W/M prompt. Keyboard seems dead. I read somewhere that someone had the same problem and replaced the 540 board and solved the problem. But, I am dead in the water as I don't have a backup keyboard for my C4PMF. It might also be the 540 board itself.

Any ideas? (I'll deal with the drive issue next)
