Aardvark C2/4 Caterpillar

Post by jwilson56 »

Help a guy out. I wrote the Aardvark C2/4 Caterpillar and would love to get a copy for an OSI emulator to play. Anyone have a copy?

Dave and I have the disk and tape files now. I'm just starting to play with them in the WinOSI emulator. Seeing this stuff after 35+ years sure brings back memories! I'm sure Dave will have the stuff posted soon. Enjoy!

It looks like my "games" disks survived, so hopefully you'll be able to play some PET games that I converted... off to try more stuff now!

I got the files, and will get them up on the software page soon. Steve, thanks for sharing this software! This is stuff I have not seen before, lots of fun.

There's a few things in there I wrote myself, but It's been so long I don't even remember..

I am having trouble loading the BAS and LOD cassette files... any ideas?

These instructions are for the WinOSI emulator, and contain more detail than you need, but recorded here so the post will be useful to others in the future.

First, attach the file to the serial port input (File->Attach Serial Input File, or F10).

For a BASIC program, enter BASIC (C or W ad C/W/M), and type "LOAD"

For a 65V monitor load file (.lod), enter the monitor ("M" at C/W/M), and type "L"

There's one more option for an object (".lod") file. The emulator can load the file directly using File->Load OSI File, or the F2 key. This loads the file much more quickly than the serial input, and will tell you the run address, if the file contains a 'G' command.

For a real machine, same as above, except instead of "Attach Serial Input File", attach your computer with the program files to the OSI serial port using a USB->serial cable, connect a terminal emulator window to the port, and upload the file after typing "LOAD" or "L" on the OSI.
