I was at VCF West this past weekend, and while checking out the consignment area, someone mentioned OSI in passing about a floppy drive. I asked what sort of OSI machine he used to have, and long story short he offered me the remaining OSI software in his possession. No reason to pass up a deal like that!

Looks like the bulk of it has to do with assembling, compiling, and the monitor. But I would hazard a guess that Super Doodler, Labyrinth, and Alien II are all games. There's a lot going on here...

Looks like I finally have the backplane module I've always wanted. It has a few cut traces, but nothing I cant fix... if I even need to fix them.

Back to the software, what can y'all tell me about what I've got here? I'm curious to get into these when my C4P is ready to use again.

Nice haul! If the tapes are good, it would be great if you posted the listings here, or mail them to me to post on the site.
Cheers,
Dave
Nice. Just FYI, This card (the A15 card) is in the OSIWeb Github reproduction boards repository, so there's no need to wait until the card comes your way. You can simply upload the ZIPped Gerber files to JLCPCB.com, and 5 new PCB's can be at your doorstep in less than 1 week for all of $25 ($8.20 for the boards, and $16.80 for shipping).CommodoreZ wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 9:18 am Looks like I finally have the backplane module I've always wanted. Re: General Software Haul!
If I can devise a reliable way to dump the contents of the tapes, I will gladly send along the files to be added to the archive. Right now, the only tape deck I have on hand is a common shoebox player/recorder rather than a HiFi. Although, that's probably an authentic method of playback.
The easiest thing for me to dump right now is the contents of the 2716 EPROM. Looks like the 8" disk contains word processing software that seems to already be in the listings, which is good because I lack an 8" drive.

We can dump and/or boot the 8" disk and make sure that's really what's on there, next time you're down my way. I just imaged an 8" disk that claimed to be WP-1B today (a version of the OSI word processor), when in fact it's really the OSI 6500/6800 software development environment!
Check out The Glitch Works

Could we get an upload of the OSI 6500/6800 software development environment image Glitch ?

I'm happy to sample the tapes for you if needed, but if you do get a tape drive, be sure to tweak the head azimuth to get the highest quality audio.
You can always digitize it & run it through Ed's Kansas City tape decoder. See http://dxforth.mirrors.minimaltype.com/#kcs
Cheers,
