bad links in Files section?
Hi Guys, I have been trying to fetch the C4P Tutorial disk images contributed by Philip Lord here, http://osiweb.org/software.html#Disk%20Images but it looks like the one for OS65D V3.3 Tutorial 2 (C4P) is not really a link and those for Tutorials 1, 3, 4 and 5 are incorrect links as they are missin...

Re: Building the KLyball D-13
Hey Guys, Struggling to get my C4PMF running and the troubles are starting to get highly focused on the MPI floppy drives. One will not read at all and the second is "flakey" at best. Would like to hook up some known good drives but need the external data separator. Is there a source for Mr. Klyball...

Re: Software disk archiving and disk creation
Hi! OK. This helps me see the process. Thanks for that. Will have to make sure I have .LOD files with correct stuff in them. The TK0RW300.LOD that Jeff referred me to does load at 0300 rather 0200 so it seemed correct to execute by 0300G but maybe there is another version of that "writer" that I nee...

Re: Software disk archiving and disk creation
Jeff and others, Thanks for the help and I have made forward progress albeit slowly. The 5.25" drives had been literally cut off the C4PMF that I acquired and so it was not clear which drive needed to be on which cable. The ribbon cables had "1" and "2" written on them but of course the drives are a...

Re: Software disk archiving and disk creation
Yes-- Thanks Jeff. I have lots of that stuff here as well as a "pile" of laptops with real serial ports and so I tend to grab one of those. Used the same one I did for ADTPro to get images onto an Apple ][ I restored. I do all this stuff with Linux so now I can put together some code to get the imag...

Re: Software disk archiving and disk creation
Answered my own question! The SAMS C4P service manual does disclose the pin out of the DB25s on the "A15" board. The PRINTER connector (J8) does not have an RxD connection. It's output only so not a good place to connect if you want to send stuff TO the C4PMF. Therefore the MODEM connector (J9) is t...

Re: Software disk archiving and disk creation
Hi Guys-- It's all starting to make sense now. I appreciate the replies and the links. Before I mod the machine for 9600 baud serial, I've been trying to just get connectivity at 1200 baud-- assuming I could use a terminal emulator to send the equiv of the .LOD text by typing on the keyboard. So far...

Re: Software disk archiving and disk creation
Hi Jeff. Thanks for the note and the link. Looks like you are making good progress with your machine. I didn't see anything there about sending a disk image down to a C4PMF though? Did I miss it? My situation is that I have working hardware and no 5.25" floppies to boot from. I need a way to generat...

Re: Software disk archiving and disk creation
Hi Guys... New to the list here and looking for some assistance. I have just finished restoring a C4PMF and have another C4PDF in the works. I received a very large box of floppies with these machines, tons of 8" media and a 5.25" plastic floppy case. I picked the C4PMF to restore first as it as eas...
