Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Hi, I'll repeat what I said before, if you are getting seeking when you press 'D', then cable orientation is not an issue. There could be other issues with the cable. I have seen individual broken conductors in a ribbon cable. I have also seen bad "IDC" joints at the connector itself. I'm still inte...

Re: Keyboard Switches
The keyswitches on Atari CX-85 numeric pads are perfect replacements and seem to be much more reliable. They come up used on ebay all the time for around 10 dollars and contain 17 switches. Less than a dollar a switch. There are a bunch new for 25 each... still less than 2 dollars a switch.

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Could you please clue me in to what BootHex is and where I could find it?
I have a couple of C1PMFs and could give it a try here.

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Hi Tom, 1) Don't let this bother you. Our old friends in Hiram didn't seem to bother much about the cable stripe. I have a13s with both cables installed, one correctly, one reversed. Leave the cable plugged in in the orientation that seeks on "D". 2) This is promising. I am not familiar with BootHex...

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
With the power off, you should be able to turn the stepper motor with little resistance. If this is not the case, you need to lubricate the motor, the worm gear (the screw that the head assembly "rides" on) and the assembly itself. Use "light machine" or "sewing machine" oil. Work it until it is ver...

Re: C1P with plastic case on Ebay
Yes, but the case is not "right". I have a series II. There should be a metal shell (most of a C4p case, without the wood obviously) inside the plastic case.

Re: 48 pin bus Backplane
You want to get some CAIG deoxit and some Nyogel 760. Get the deoxit in the little bottle like nail polish. Remove all of the boards. Apply the deoxit to both the holes and the pins and let it set for a few minutes. Do not wipe away the excess. Then apply the Nyogel to the holes and the pins. Use a ...

Re: OSI 300 Computer Trainer
I didn't win that one, but I have one. I also have all of the original documentation, but no box. I traded a fully loaded IMSAI for it, so I guess I paid more for mine.

Re: Disk preservation
That is my intention. I want to get things cleaned up a bit first.dave wrote:Looks like Bill posted while I was still typing. That's great bill! Any chance of making that program, and the disk images available?
