Re: Request for 5.25" boot disks
Hi Bill, That is mighty generous of you. However, I was wondering if it might be a good idea if I try to contact the OSI exhibiter at VCF 8 and see if he would be kind enough to make a few extra copies first. I feel that taking one of your disks would be a last resort as I know how precious they are...

Request for 5.25" boot disks
As many of you know I have been repairing (with Dave's help) an Ohio Scientific C42P. It's been quite a process with nearly every part of the system needing some fix (CPU board, Video Board, Power supply, Keyboard, Disk drive). Surprisingly the RAM boards were fine...go figure! Anyway, now that I be...

Re: INVADERS game on 2P
...Strangely enough I can't replicate this on my C2-4P which is setup almost identical to the 2P.

INVADERS game on 2P
So as some of you know I have a 2P MF, unfortunately with no micro floppy (MF), so it's basically a 2P except it boots to the H/D/M? prompt, so the ROM is not wired in a way that it accesses the BASIC in ROM. I have a few machine code only .LOD files that I got from the web and I load these into the...

Re: New data separator and motor control card
I have attached a picture of the board. I need to find some 7438's and a 74121. I have already found a 74123 in my box of parts.
Hopefully it won't need any fixes. I have my fingers crossed.

Dave, It sounds like you're talking about me! Something like ADT Pro would be amazing. I've used ADT pro with my Apple II quite a bit and it's a wonderful piece of software. Of course we wound't need anything quite as full featured or polished, just a simple method to bootstrap a system and make rea...

Re: Help repairing Superboard II
Great care has to be take in removing chips from their sockets. You have to make sure that you ease up one end a little (one millimeter), them do the same to the other side, then repeat, moving from one end to the other until the IC just pops out. What I do is use a thin flat head screwdriver and ge...

Re: Help repairing Superboard II
I'm not really an expert, but I've fixed many old computers and video game boards with nothing more than persistence, luck, lots of help from more knowledgeable folks and a $10 logic probe. I highly recommend finding a cheap logic probe as these are great for basic testing. As Dave said, reseating c...
