That's very clever. I think it's the simplest video mod I've seen.

Re: Finished 600/610 replica project
Grant, this is really an amazing project. From the bare board, it looks like your replica takes modern Cherry keys, which is wonderful. I'm interested in the details of the keycaps you had made. Were they custom made by Cherry, or elsewhere? Would you mind sharing information on how others can have ...

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Hi Tom, That's the 20-ma current loop hardware. You can safely ignore it, except that you use the RS232 interface, you will want to make sure that the jumper is set for RS232 input, rather than 20-ma input. If you use the FTDI interface directly to the UART, then the jumpering is not relevant. The b...

C1P with plastic case on Ebay
There's a nice looking C1P with the 600 and 610 cards, in a plastic case on Ebay at the moment:

Re: RS-232 mod for C1P
Whether you hook up the serial port directly or go for a USB<->UART adapter, you will want to increase the baud rate from 300, to make transfers bearable. The 6502 at 1MHz can support in excess of 9600 baud. For the 600 board, the clock is derived from the master timing chain. The 3.932160 MHz clock...

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
One thing to note: If you do this, you'll still want to increase the baud rate from 300, to make transfers bearable. The 6502 at 1MHz can support in excess of 9600 baud. For the 600 board, the clock is derived from the master timing chain. The 3.932160 MHz clock is divided down to provide timing for...

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Hi Tom, There's not much you can do, since the HSYNC is derived from the timing chain. Assuming the HSYNC is not already at the lower margin, you could try shortening it to give a longer back porch, which can move the video to the right. But you can only shorten so much before losing the sync. You c...

Re: [Solved] Serial puzzle (was DISKREAD / RAWDUMP)
I never did buy much software back in the day--all I had was what I wrote. I haven't given up on building up a software library, though. Perhaps with Stephan's cc65 efforts, and Vince Briel's SBIII, and more people getting their systems working, we will see some more home grown software. I think 201...
