Re: OSI 600 Superboard II replica

If you made a separate compatible OSI keyboard, they'd be great to use in original equipment as well.

Re: C4PMF not working

Hi Jeff, That's good news. You may want to zoom out on the time scale and see if the address and data line activity looks periodic (like it's in a loop waiting for something), or chaotic. Next, try checking the CE line on the boot ROM to make sure it's getting selected periodically, and check the da...

I'm down for one as well, regardless if you hit that price goal or not.

Re: C4PMF not working

Hi Jeff, I had not seen your post earlier. The 11V is a bit worrisome--hopefully the 505 and 527 boards have not been damaged. However, if you had to lose two boards in the system, better the 505 and 527 boards, which are documented elsewhere, than the 540/541 combo, which is not documented anywhere...

Re: OSI 541 Board

Hi Jeff, Hard to say--this looks like a typical power-up garbage screen. Some characters are inverted. I think that the color-capable boards (540b) could produce inverse characters. This looks pretty much like black&white; I'm not sure if the inverse video is happening on the 540 or 541 board. Howev...

Re: OSI 541 Board

Jeff, I still think it's one of the above guesses. The fact that one color 2114 is replaced suggests that only 1K of text is to be combined with whatever the 541 board generates, suggesting it's in 32x32 char mode, would favor a black&white bitmapped graphics overlay, with some different modes for c...

OSI 541 Board

Hi Jeff, I thought this is so interesting, it should be in a new topic. I would like to see a higher-resolution image of the board to be able to make out all the chip numbers with greater confidence. The board reminds me very much of a couple of different modifications I made to my C2-4P 540 board, ...

Re: The OSI C4P Page

Hi Jeff, and welcome to the forum! I think you will find several of us are happy to help you out here. As Steve suggested, you may want to open a new thread to discuss the repairs. Good call on ordering the scope and logic probe--you won't regret it. A digital multimeter could be of value as well. I...

Re: just getting into this stuff!

Welcome to the forum! These systems to pop up on Ebay from time to time. However, if you're not entirely comfortable with possibly restoring nonfunctioning hardware, then you may consider following Vince Briel's progres on his Superboard II clone. It promises to offer a faithful OSI experience, but ...
