Re: Great OSI resource!
Thanks, guys! I had let the site sit for a long while, and I have accumulated material that really only has any value if it's shared, so I figured I can carve out a few minutes here and there to put it all up. Also, I have realized that all of these old computer sites really are only as valuable as ...

Re: Parts sources (was: New data separator and motor control
I think breadboarding sounds like a good idea. Is this something you would tackle? I only ask because I don't have a breadboard, nor a drive (I just ordered one though, but know knowing if it'll be functional on arrival), nor have I had any experience in breadboarding. If the idea is to make sure t...

Parts sources (was: New data separator and motor control card)
I just picked up a 610 board off ebay... no paddle board, so I'm hoping things go well with this project. The 610 board is missing all the major chips, but I managed to find some 6850's on ebay. I still need to find a 6820 and some 2114 rams.... does anyone know of a good source? Steve Hi Steve, Th...

Re: New data separator and motor control card
Hi Philip, That's great! Right now I am in full crunch mode trying to get a current consulting project finished, and that's in addition to my day job, so it will likely be the weekend before I have a chance to go over it properly. I have also been thinking that really, there's no need for the double...

Re: D&N Micro Products scans
Hi Steve, That would be great. In Memphis, we didn't have the critical mass of OSI users to form a users group. One of my best friends had a C2, and his friend had a C2, and the closest thing to a users' group was lugging our computers to each other's houses, debugging flaky hardware, adding on vari...

Re: New data separator and motor control card
I will check it out more thoroughly probably in a week or so. The other thing to consider is that there are two standard drive pinouts--the Shugart standard, and the PC standard. They are similar, but several pins are different. It may be worth thinking about how both can be supported, since the PC ...

Re: New data separator and motor control card
Hi Philip, You learned your way around eagle quickly! One thing you should do is run the ERC (electrical rules check) on the schematic. It will be very informative. For one thing, it will point out that the various chips automatically connect their power pins to VCC and GND. The cleanest way to do t...

Re: Pico DOS
I couldn't find anything here. If anybody does have the documentation for PICODOS, and is willing to scan it, please let me know, and we can host it here. Steve, hopefully we can flesh out a well-documented procedure for preserving OSI disks, and can document that here as well, for future preservati...

Re: WTD: A13 card or detailed pictures/schematics etc.
Hi Philip, Since my floppy is not currently plugged in to my C2, I was able to scan the A13 board for you. Also, you can check out the bare-board image on Mark's web site The A13 board looks pretty much like the home-made floppy connector you got with your unit, except that the cables are terminated...
