65A, 68A2, 510 Boot ROM Dumps

As part of my Challenger III cleanup, I dumped the ROMs: http://filedump.theglitchworks.net/software/vintage/osi/roms/ My system is a serial system, so the monitor is the 65A and 68A2. The boot ROM (does it have an OSI official name?) at 0xFF00 supports hard disk booting. This system doesn't have a ...

OSI 510 ASCII Art Quickref

I got tired of looking this up through the schematic, which isn't super clear: http://filedump.theglitchworks.net/manuals/OSI/510_connector_and_rom_locations.txt A little bit of ASCII art that describes what the 510 connector pins are for (reset, serial console), and what addresses each ROM socket m...

OSI Challenger III Clean-Up

Just finished writing up my clean-up of my Challenger III: http://www.glitchwrks.com/2016/04/20/challenger-3-cleanup Apparently it was in our front room in NY when our brilliant contractor cut the old unused chimney off -- without covering the fireplaces! There was a nice thick coat of soot and lime...

Re: 510 board build

I've got OS-65U for serial systems, but no way to image 8" disks at the moment. I keep saying it's a long-term project to write some 8" disk imaging code...

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?

I finally got to make a trip out to one of my vintage components suppliers yesterday, and returned with a box of 12-pin Molex KK-156 connectors! I'll be including a set of four natural nylon (the old translucent yellowish kind) connectors with the protoboards.

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?

Listed the remaining 3 spares: http://www.ebay.com/itm/272173918152 $100 Buy It Now, feel free to make an offer. $100 each is a little less than what I have in them at this point. How quickly these go will probably determine if/when I do another run of them. *** If you want one of these, please let ...

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?

Hah, replacement RAM boards have to be the most common use for OSI 495 protoboards! The other original I know of is currently a RAM board, and I've been contacted through eBay by several bidders with a, "I want to make a RAM board..." type questions :) And, that is, after all, pretty much what I wan...

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?

Listed one for sale on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/272155352950

Started at $0.99 -- we'll see where it goes! If there's a lot of interest in these, I'll do a larger run and determine a fixed price.

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?

They're in! Aside from one small, inconsequential imperfection in my Gerbers, they're good to go. Here's an Imgur album:
