Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?
I'm using Mile High Test Service ( http://www.mhtest.com/ ) which was recently bought by Gardien Services. Grant Stockley uses them for his reproduction Altair boards. I know they at least do two-sided boards, and from the quote form it looks like they do multilayer/silkscreen/solder mask scanning i...

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?
Me too! I'm using a new board shop due to the size of Ohio Scientific boards. Now that the Chinese new year is over, my Gerbers have been approved and the manufacturing process has started. Apparently it's 9 days from approval/payment to arrival at my door!

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?
Test run is off to the board manufacturer! We'll see if the scans + drill file matches up close enough. It's a 1:1 scan, so the resulting boards will still have the "tape and film" layout look to them. I did add a note in the copper layer that the board is a respin, so they don't end up on eBay as o...

Re: Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?
Decided to do one better, I'm having the board professionally scanned at 4000 DPI and turned into a set of CAD drawings, should be able to clean them up and have a board house run them at a reasonable price -- I'm aiming for less than $50/board.

Re: 525 Board
That's my 525 board listed, I posted it in the auctions subforum. It should indeed allow you to add 16K of main memory, you just won't be using the dual-port feature. I figured even if no one needed a dual-port board, someone probably needs a *reliable* RAM board for their OSI!

OSI 525 Dual Port Static RAM Board
link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/272118422825 I received this board with another Ohio Scientific board. There are zero components populated, not even the Molex connectors. Sockets are present for the 2114 static RAMs and some of the board logic. Super clean board otherwise. I'm not sure what else it's ...

Interest in OSI 495 Prototype Boards?
I'm thinking about doing a photocopy clone of the OSI 495 prototype board. This should be really easy as the original was single-sided to begin with. Photocopying means I don't have to try and learn KiCad to escape the size restrictions on EAGLE Lite, and I should be able to produce some boards from...

Re: Call for 8" OSI floppy disks
A few of us have working disk systems. I'm hesitant to mail my floppies anywhere, though. Long term project (like, I've been meaning to work on it for *years*) is to come up with a way to dump and restore 8" disks a la ADTPro on native hardware.

Re: OSI boards
Any chance on an OSI prototyping board? I've been thinking about laying one out close to the original. Should be cheap to have a few made, since they're single-sided no soldermask/silkscreen.

Re: Fabricating a 2P badge
If the badges are like the badges on my Challenger III (raised metal lettering), the thing to do would be deep-etch zinc. When I worked at ITI Audio, we were using these guys: http://www.visionmark.com/capetch.html The work was acceptable, though we ended up having to reinforce the front panels with...
