Re: phpBB upgrade

Hi Dave,

the new message board works fine for me, but I cannot access the main site under http://osiweb.org, I'm only getting a HTTP error 500 message.

osiweb.org down?

Hi,

I'm getting only HTTP error 500 messages when I try to access http://osiweb.org. Is this a known issue?

Re: Sunday with my SuperBoard II

The device operating the DD line must be open collector or open drain. The DD, when used with the 32K RAM board is pulled high by a resistor on the 600 board so you cannot use a device with an active pull-up. So if I want to drive the 5V DD line with a Raspberry Pi 3.3V GPIO output, I would have to...

Re: Sunday with my SuperBoard II

I have a working 32K RAM expansion board, and now I'm looking into attaching a further peripheral to the expansion socket on top of the memory expansion board. My question is, how must the DD line be implemented so it doesn't interfere with the DD signal of the memory expansion board? From the threa...

Re: Question regarding RS-232 interface for C1P

Could you show us how you did this in your script please Stephan. Sure. This is the script that uploads a BASIC file: <# .SYNOPSIS Upload BASIC file over the RS-232 port to a Challenger 1P .DESCRIPTION This script uploads BASIC files over the RS-232 interface of an Ohio Scientific Challenger 1P. Re: Question regarding RS-232 interface for C1P

After adding the feature to send three NULLs before each line, uploading BASIC programs from text files now works perfectly.

Re: Question regarding RS-232 interface for C1P

Nice! Do BASIC programs need any special formatting for reliable upload over RS-232? Yes, especially when you increase the speed over 300 baud. The C1/2/4 machines don't by default use interrupt driven I/O, so there's no buffering of the serial stream. BASIC has to scroll the screen and digest the ...

Re: Question regarding RS-232 interface for C1P

I did first tests to upload programs over the serial port. I uploaded a BASIC program via the LOAD command, and a program compiled with cc65 into the machine monitor. The surprising result is that loading the BASIC program does not work, while the uploading via the machine monitor works reliably. In...

Re: Question regarding RS-232 interface for C1P

How can I check the RX side with the loop J3 2->3? Would I do this from BASIC by writing something out, and then it should be echoed automatically? Nevermind, I actually had wired the 9-pin female RS-232 connector in a wrong way. After taking another look at the pin layout and after resoldering it,...

Re: Question regarding RS-232 interface for C1P

Mark's note appears to be incorrect. J3-4 (normally the pole of CASS/RS-232 switch) connects the ACIA receive input (PIN2) to J3-5 for CASS or J3-6 for RS232. As per FBOSI article which is correct. Yes, if your not using the switch after breaking W10 you link J3 4-5 for CASS or J3 4-6 for RS-232[/q...
