Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Dave, That was from pin 8 U58 but I realized something after posting the image.... the on-board glass fuse blew some time earlier in the evening. So I have to get hold of another fuse. But wait, there's more. I got hold of another 600 Board which lo-and-behold booted up, generated the garbage screen...

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Hi Dave,
I've attached a screen shot from my scope. The measures window shows 60 Hz for the frequency. I'm wondering if my settings might be wrong.
Many thanks, Tom

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
I've attached a Google Drive link below. At this point, I've checked all the voltage points listed in the SAMS manual. The one anomaly is that all of the points that should read 4.93 are reading 5.00V. Could that mean anything?

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
So, with a new PSU, I'm finding a signal on U58 pin 8 (oscillator circuit) but it does not match the waveform in the SAMS manual. Also found a signal on pin 39 of the 6502 (clock 02) but also does not match the waveform in SAMS. And no signal to the monitor. Thoughts?

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Understood. I took your good advice and set aside the 610 at the very start of the process. I do have a 5V 10A PSU to power both if\when that time comes. Thanks, Tom

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Thanks Dave. The C1P I'm working with had what I think was a fairly standard factory installed PSU -- an arrangement I simply do not like. The transformer steps down the 120VAC to 15VAC which is delivered to a series of components on and off of the system board to drop and convert the voltage to 5VD...

Re: Lunar Lander
Phil, I completely agree that a 45-degree approach attitude would enhance the player experience. As for landing the thing as currently designed, 20-minutes without success seems too long. By any chance is your board running at 2Mhz. Also, I can't remember if I incorporated a 4th thrust setting (the ...

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
Thanks all for the guidance. I've checked all the RCA ports and no joy. Testing with an oscilloscope shows no video signal being generated. I'll be checking for waveforms all day tomorrow. Here's one follow-up question.... I'd like to replace the old PSU with a modern switched power supply. Does any...

Help - trying to restore C1PMF
After 30 years, I'm trying to get my C1PMF up and running and I am hoping members of the forum might help with some troubleshooting. Here's the scoop: * A visual inspection of the 600 Rev B and 610 board finds no gross defects or broken traces or missing IC's. Cables are firmly seated. Power connect...
