Re: C1P video mod -- double characters per line.
Well i found my box of OSI stuff after 30 years in storage and hooked it up. I used a modern flat screen LCD monitor which had old analog video in (yellow, white, red RCA connectors). it worked quite nicely giving very clean sharp (square dots) output. looks better on old tube where dots blend a lit...

Re: Superboard mods
well I found my box with the OSI stuff in it... broke out the board, found a 5 v supply and hooked it up. Didn't have my old monochrome monitor but I plugged the RCA video jack into the old analog Video input of a modern LCD monitor and by surprise to me it came up. All 24 characters. Very sharp wit...

Re: Help - trying to restore C1PMF
first of all I would totally disconnect the additional board with the drives and its memory and just get the basic single board C1P up and running first. I just pulled mine out of the box after about 30 years and it came up running. I was amazed.. Stickky keyboard problems, but just banging keys a w...

Re: C1P video mod -- double characters per line.
I wasn't sure many were even reading stuff her, so now that I see a lot of interest I will try to find my OSI. I know its all in a box somewhere and pretty sure it all works. tough part will be finding a monocrhrome monitor that works. May have to hack into a CGA monitor. Anyway, I'll see if I can f...

C1P video mod -- double characters per line.
I have a "simple" mode to the super board II that gives twice as many characters per line. I designed this mod 35 years ago, so I'm going from memory here but this is the info. It requires a few cut traces (I believe it is about 4). It requires 2 simple 7400 series TTL chips. Almost all of the requi...

Re: Superboard mods
Its too bad I never published my video modification which is super simple compared to all the others. It will doulbe the characters accross so 24 becomes 48 and 1/2 the lines down so you get a reasonable usefull number. The mod required a few cut traces (if I remember back 35 years, its about 4) and...

New member original super board II owner
Hello guys I've had my supper board II since the introduction probably about 1978 or so. Way back in the old days, I designed a very great mode to the video interface to convert the screen to twice as many characters across and half the lines down using very minor (I believe it was about 4 cut trace...
