Re: Want to build case(s) for C1P's

Crawford, On my C4P the top and bottom seem the same, about 1.5mm thick aluminum. It's almost exactly the thickness of a canadian 5 cent piece. I took the guts out of my C4P and was hoping to make a new two-piece case with computer and drive in one unit with an external keyboard. I started building ...

Re: The OSI C1P Page

Quite a tale ;-)

Yes, those were the days when you could actually get right into the guts of the machine and play! Nice.

Re: Want to build case(s) for C1P's

ASCII art can be too confusing... I measured my C4P: All measurements are in millimeters, +/- about 1mm. (Edit: Added) Clarification: All measurements are the INSIDE measurements. (Edit: Added) Thickness of case is 1.5mm Top Cover: -Width=384 -Depth, front to back: 18-screw holes to attach to bottom...

Re: Disk preservation

I'm in the process of dumping my OSI disks track by track to text files using the OSI dump program found with the windows OSI emulator package. I have also written a complementary program to take the track data from the serial port and write it back to the disk. Hmm, I never thought to check the em...

Re: The OSI C4P Page

Thanks for sharing your site. I've linked to it on the main page. I am very interested in the Mittendorf board, as I had hacked a high-res mod for the 540 board, basically a 16K RAM board which multiplexed the 540 board video timing divider chain outputs with the address lines, and the data lines c...

Disk preservation

Hi,

Just a thought/question. What is the best way to preserve OSI disks? Other systems have disk image/archiving formats like D64 (Commodore), DMS (Amiga), ATR (Atari), or ISO etc.

I guess tape archival is another question... perhaps recording them to MP3 or better, some lossless format.
