Re: Interesting OSI system

Nice construction job by the looks of it. Must weigh a ton! Raises the question, how best to power up something up like that that perhaps hasn't been booted for for donkeys. ? Variac ? or reform caps individually? Maybe you should have taken these along Steve: C4P+D&N floppy not working, 2x C4P not...

Interesting OSI system

I am a member of TPUG - the Toronto PET User Group. Last night was our annual "repair night" meeting. One of our members, brought in an OSI system he picked up at a second-hand store long ago - for $10! It turned out to be a C4P installed into an original IBM PC case. It had two full-height drives, ...

Re: My C4P Project

Steve, this is awesome! Can't wait to see how it turns out! Dave I think the C4P's video capabilities are what attracted me to the computer. That and all the ports on the back. I'd like to cram as much from the original system in as i can, and perhaps throw in some other goodies, like an AY sound c...

Re: My C4P Project

Good work so far! You might look into breaking up the schematic into several sheets -- I see you've used global nets which means you can break up the schematic and the nets will stay connected. Makes it easier to digest when you have it separated into a number of sheets by related function. This is...

My C4P Project

Recently I've been learning Kicad. I've made a couple boards that I'm waiting to get back from the PCB house. In the mean time I thought I might sharpen my Kicad skills and start working on something that I've been thinking about for a long time... A new C4P compatible computer on a single board... ...

Re: Sound card for OSI

There is also the SN76489. also the TOSIE hacker board I believe had sound ? Maybe Steve has some info on that? It sounds like it was an interesting board. Yes, it could take two ay sound chips, plus expanded character sets, and a 40-pin expansion socket. I have a mittendorf hi-res card hanging off...

Re: OSI boards

My dream would be for a new all-in-one board. Something with CPU, 64 RAM, ROM, Serial Port, and Floppy Disk controller (with data separator and standard floppy drive connector. It should have an option to enable or disable BASIC. That plus a 540B video board would make a complete C4P-MF system, whic...
