Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
Attached is the ZIP file with the V2.1x documentation. Please read it carefully as there are several changes from V2.0 to V2.1: a. Names have been changed to better match the function, e. g., LOAD is now named MAKECOM, COPY is now DISKCOPY. b. Command line flow is consistent as a left to right flow....

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
I think this message will be good news for all concerned. I just brought up DOS/65 V2.17 (that is the SYSGEN version) on my C1P/SBII with no changes to my BOOT and SIM other than the opening banner upon cold boot displays the SYSGEN version as well as the SIM version. Even that is just a hard coded ...

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
Here is the DOS/65 version of RAWDUMP. A comment or two is appropriate. a. This is not really a RAW dump as the software spends time and code to eliminate the "noise" bytes before or inside the seven byte track header. b. There is no reason to use CLEAN on the captured hex stream. If there was an un...

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
I will shortly be posting the DOS/65 version of RAWDUMP and will have comments regarding that when I do. In the meantime I am starting to post transients that were either not part of the OSI release or that have been significantly updated since then. I all cases I will run tests to ensure the transi...

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
It is working! I checked the hex file contents and they were correct. What I saw were solitary noise bytes ($FF) before the "C" that starts the header. I manually removed them and added a 00 at the end of the track. I had done this before so will necessary I knew it was not sufficient. I also saw a ...

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
Hmmmmm! Things are not going too well. I ran my DOS/65 RAWDUMP routine capturing the serial stream and then ran HEXBIN. That seemed to work fine but when I ran CLEAN it failed on the second track. I mounted the pre-CLEAN bin file in WINOSI configured with 40K of RAM and only my C1MON ROM (V2.02 with...

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
It has been an interesting few days with very limited time for DOS/65 and OSI C1P tasks but progress was made: 1. I have concluded that the problem with drive B was most likely invisible oxidation on some of the IC pins and most likely the PIA. A little movement of the pins in the sockets (a little ...

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
An update on my fixes: a. Drive B working a little better but I need to test and relook at timing. b. Video cable connection to J2 tested and good. c. RS232 cable connection rework to J3 completed and tested good. d. Murata small 5V to -12V converter installed and tested. Rated output is 63mA, more ...

Re: DOS/65 Richard Leary
Mike - I'll take a look at that ASAP. Wonder why it works? Right now I have a few hardware issues or tasks I am working: a. Drive B not working right. I swapped the drive with another drive and was seeing same symptoms, e. g., could not format without errors, could not copy system or data area witho...
