510 board build

I acquired a 510 board and have started to get it running

I used a variation of BillO's memory module as i found a UM61512 in my junk box for 64k
i have 56k ram addressed , i will now try and connect it to my 610 to see if i can get the disk running.
anyone have images of 65u or D for serial boards or even cp/m as i have activity on the z-80 and 6800

Here is the start of my super reto computer

After pulling whats left of my hair out i have my 510 and 610 playing nice together.

Originally i also had my memory breadboard attached addressing 0000-1FFF, 8000-BFFF, D000-EFFF for 56K with the 610 doing it's 2000-7FFF
i was have all kind of memory addressing problems so removed the bread board and rewired the 610 for 0000-5FFF but was still having problems were some data was fine but i was getting FF for 01 and F0 for 20 and thing like that,
The problem was very simple The 500 series units use 8t26's and the 600/610 use 8t28's they don't play nice together , you can use either or as long as you use the same one's so after i put 26's in the 610 all is working well .
i got a boot disk made and i hooked it up to my 2649E terminal for ultimate effect.
I am going to make a back plane and a 620 and would like to know if there is intrest in a 4 or 8 backplane .

Made some progress on my new system, after now having disk access I am working on the multi processor side , I made a modified boot disk and wrote a small utility to switch processors and select options, it's a work in progress.
The 510 has a 256 byte ram at F200 that write protects and remaps to FF00 when the processor is switched if enabled

Is the 6800 serial monitor similar to 65A monitor ? Any software around for 6800 on OSI ?
Did you find a serial boot disk or just tweak video version i/o defaults ?
Hope we can find you 65U. You have a very unique system I would think. Well done.

Yes the 68A and 65A function the same , the z-80 monitor is not on board and needs to be loaded to ram first.
I have modified tiny basic for the 6800 to work with the osi system but it not working quit right yet.
I modified the 65d images to work with the serial system.

I have a little progress with the 510
I made a 48 buss interface to connect to the 610 and a modified BillO memory board , I disabled the 610 ram and have been using 56k ram with no glitches at all (ready for cp/m),also a modified AT power supply with +5 +12 -9 -12
now time for a case (just a rough idea, thoughts?),

Since adding the klyball separator to my c4 the board stack is getting a bit crampt. I was thinking of a case for them and the floppies and power and all the boards as well. Something like this: http://m.ncix.com/products/sku/23679/1469
I like the retro look. Of course the keyboard would need a case too. That would free up the c4p case for my superboard and 610!

I have a interesting memory problem that came to light trying to run cp/m, at first I thought the disk was bad but this is not the case.
I dumped the first track and dissembled the first little bit, It seems osi cp/m loads some code starting at at $D000 so you need memory at $D000-$EFFF, no problem I have that, but when I reset or apply power or when the processors switch $D000-$D7FF gets filled with $20 ? so it is overwriting the code put there by the disk .
I can read and write to that area and all others with no problems or errors. but on reset all memory is preserved but that area .
Anyone have any ideas.

Nice progress on the 510 system!

When you power up, reset, or switch over to 6502, the processor is being reset. It seems your ROM is not the serial rom (65A), but rather the video version (65V) which clears the screen by filling video RAM (D000-D7FF) spaces ($20).
