It seems to be a bit quit around here, so i thought i would post a couple things i have been up to..

555 replica- 2 printer ports 4 serial ports 1 network node and 8k ram D000 and E000 .
470K hot rodded 470 with up to 64k ram or rom ,Data separator and ide sockets.

These will be going in my custom 510 build along with a 570b rtc board

Grant, whats the capability of the 470HR ?
Double sided dual drive support, motor control etc ??

Dual sided dual drives jumper configurable, Motor control was planned but i mixed up my files and made the wrong one , i have a little daughter board that plugs into the open socket no cut's and 4 jumpers top or bottom. but for the amount of time these systems would be running i don't think the motor control is a much of a problem.All original circuits are maintained from the 470 except i used 74ls242 instead of 8t26 , but they seem harder to find then the 26's go figure
The only other problem with this board is it's missing the inverter on the select drive 2 line but easy fix,1 cut, 2 jumpers other than that its working rock solid
i have 1- 8 inch drive and 1- 3.5 drive hooked up so i can make 3.5 copies From the 8 inch.

I need to organize and name my files better all in all not bad for Ver 1.00

Any chance on an OSI prototyping board? I've been thinking about laying one out close to the original. Should be cheap to have a few made, since they're single-sided no soldermask/silkscreen.

I was looking at possibly a 575 but had done a little already on the 595. The problem with these boards is not so much mask or silk screen but the size . they are just big boards.

My dream would be for a new all-in-one board. Something with CPU, 64 RAM, ROM, Serial Port, and Floppy Disk controller (with data separator and standard floppy drive connector. It should have an option to enable or disable BASIC. That plus a 540B video board would make a complete C4P-MF system, which to me would be the ultimate OSI system. It would be nice if the 540B board could be cloned (or improved by populating all 8-bits of video memory for extra colours).

I have a 555 Jungle board in my Keysytem business system. It has a network port on the back but I have no idea what to do with it.
<Oh wait, we actually have the documentation online... Chapter 12 of OS65U 1.44 manual> Ah, I see. You could connect up to 18 OSI systems. Once you start timesharing on a network you could share E: drives with other OSI workstations as well as access local drives. The controller has to pass network requests on to the next station if it does not act on it.

Interesting.... I wonder if that will ever be done again? Not enough systems left in the world...
