Help with a C4PMF

Post by lowrybt1 » Thu Nov 26, 2015 12:06 am

Hello,

I'm working with a newly acquired C4PMF and OSD65 v3.2 NMHZ and hitting a few stumbling blocks:

1. single-drive so I'm keying in one of the old single drive copy programs in BASIC to get to a place where I can make copies of the one good disk I have.

2. Entering BA from A*, the system reports approximately 11.3K RAM free.

3. When keying in the Single Disk copy program, the system appears to freeze when I get to the exact same byte every time. So, let's say 4K worth of code entered no problem, at 4,001 the system seems to lock. This behavior is occurring well before consuming the reported 11K free.

Questions:

is there a way to confirm RAM available after booting into A* or BASIC?
does anyone know of a simple memory check program in BASIC that I could key in and run?

Thanks,

Tom

Vince

Try ? FRE(8)

Does it hang when it tokenises the line after a <RETURN>. Could be BASIC or memory. Tried another BASIC ?

In fact, it is freezing when tokenizing newly entered BASIC statements. Thanks for the lead. I test to see if there's something unique about the statements that could be problematic.

I don't have another copy or version of BASIC to test. Will have to try downloading and serializing a new copy of BASIC.

Thanks very much for the guidance. Tom
