525 Board

Post by lowrybt1 » Sun Jan 31, 2016 5:50 am

There's a stripped-down 525 board available on eBay. I've been looking for a way to add 16K to my C4PDF which has a single 527 board. If I were to build-out the board and add it to the available slot on the C4P, would be it be compatible with the 24K on the 527 and natively add the 16K on the 525?

If the 525 can work with the C4P, can anyone recommend the right molex (or other) connectors that I would use with this board to populate the backplane?

Thanks, Tom
C4PDF w. 24K, 2 x 5.25 MPI B-51 drives
C1P RevB with fully-populated 610 board and A-13. Klyball D-13.
Spares: 600 Rev.D, 610 board, 540A, A-13 with homebuilt data separator, MPI B-51 logic board (w/o data sep module) and mechanicals

I saw this link posted somewhere as being the connectors to use to connect boards to the OSI bus. I thought it was somewhere on this forum, but apparently it wasn't.

The link I posted is to a Canada-specific site, for some reason. For the U.S., change the .ca to .com. For other countries, click on the flag icon at the upper right and select your country.

Dave's web site is becoming a mine of information these days. See under Tips, Tricks and Notes for the molex parts.

There is also the possibility of using Bills RAM / ROM board as mentioned under your 527 topic post. http://osiweb.org/osiforum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=272

That's my 525 board listed, I posted it in the auctions subforum. It should indeed allow you to add 16K of main memory, you just won't be using the dual-port feature. I figured even if no one needed a dual-port board, someone probably needs a *reliable* RAM board for their OSI!
