OSI and other vintage PCB fonts

Post by dave » Tue Feb 07, 2017 6:22 am

The PCB scanning service seems to be replacing the text fonts with blocky stroke fonts, which make the fab files much smaller, but are ugly and not faithful to the original look. One step in processing the gerbers after scanning, after importing back to the PCB tool, is to replace those stroke fonts with something closer to original. I have been using Arial Bold, which is close, but not exact.

Does anyone know of a font based on PCB tapeout fonts or early CAD fonts from the 70's or 80's?

Thanks!

Dave

Hi Dave,
If you email me some examples, I maybe able to match the font.

Cheers
