I picked up a C1P on ebay

Post by Steve Gray » Fri Feb 10, 2012 2:43 am

Hi,

Just picked up a C1P on ebay. I hope I didn't outbid anyone here. if so, I see there is another one available ;-)

I'm hoping this will work on arrival. Hoping also its a 600 Rev.D board inside. I'm going to try installing the 610 board into this now that I have all the part to populate it.

Nice. I actually thought about bidding, but I figured I had better get to work on the gear I already have. I also hope it works. And good luck with the 610 board.

Well, sadly it doesn't. The listing said something like "tested voltage of power supply"... and I believed it. My mistake.
It did have voltage... about 12V. Unfortunately it's supposed to be 5V. No telling what might have fried.

Cosmetically, the board does look ok. It's a revision B. There is a "SuperMOD" RF modulator installed that outputs on channel 33. Other than that it looks standard. I was hoping this would get me a system to work with right away, but I guess not.

I took out my other superboard and powered it up to refresh my memory. I'm getting a screen of characters but the machine does not reset. I'm going to have to start swapping chips to see if I can get at least one system working. And then the same with my C4 systems... gggrrrrr.
