Sound card for OSI

I have a Marick MN01 sound card for OSI/UK101. UK origin from the 80's.
AY3-8910 , 6821, LM386

Currently I have almost completed a DipTrace schematic for a clone variation. ( Premier BASIC X compatibility in mind )

Other possibilities:

Maybe combine a SN76477 with the MN01 ? and a version combining Bill's RAM/ROM board.

( winOSI AY 3 8910 simulation + DAC ? )

There is also the SN76489. They are inexpensive, small, capable and seem to be readily available.

I was going to work on that, but life has again intervened. Not sure when I'll be able to get back to my hobbies.

Thanks Bill, I will check the specs on that.
I am trying to get a couple of things to my PCB manufacturer before they take a Xmas holiday but I can see "life" getting in the way of that too. Still to add the RTC chip to your RAM/ROM yet also ...

Yes, it could take two ay sound chips, plus expanded character sets, and a 40-pin expansion socket. I have a mittendorf hi-res card hanging off it, which was working back in the day. However, i never tested the hacker board features on its own.

It looks like there was 1 AY-3-8910 and 2 VIAs on the Premier card ? Or stereo with two sound chips? Do you remember? The ROM has printer support by the looks and there appears to be a 24 pin connector perhaps for printer and VIA I/O on the card.
Maybe Manuels Premier info can tell us more.
I will certainly make my board BASIC X compatable as far as the sound commands go and maybe the VIA and printer side of things if possible. Still hoping I can get a proto board done before Xmas.
I'm waiting for Manuels BX manual ... meantime I have some some commands functioning in winOSI.
By the way. The BX ROM on OSIweb , the 3rd byte should be 6A not 82 folks. Init BASIC5 first and &GO$6800 to install BX and wait for Marks AY3 emulation !

Actually there are no errors. If your not using my USER ROM however (extra BASIC commands) change :
$6803 82 =6A $6FF2 6D =0C $6FF7 86 =AC .Note BASICX requires BASIC5 initialised first.

Hi Mike. The Premier Sound/VIA card had one AY-3-8910 and two VIAs. Both of the VIAs I/Os connected via four 16 pin DIL IC sockets mounted at the rear of the card and there was a fifth socket for the AY-3-8910 I/O port.

Might be worth reverse engineering it back to schematics...
Note there were some errors on the PCB that needed fixing, which were described in the newsletter(s) but I don't have a complete set.
